About

I'm here to help!

I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (Texas license #205055) and have a Masters of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University. I also have an MDiv from Duke University Divinity School and did a lot of ministry work before moving into therapy full-time. I am a certified facilitator for Prepare/Enrich (premarital and marriage counseling). My approach to therapy is relational and client-centered. Sessions are your time for us to talk about and work on your life. I’m an invited guest and a seasoned guide, and it’s a privilege to walk with you and your loved ones. I use an integrated approach based in family systems theory that draws from various therapy models and methods. In sessions, we move at your pace and dive as deep as you want to go. I will be curious, not judgmental; I will challenge, but won’t push. Sometimes I give homework if clients are open and interested. I take insurance and will work with folks on a sliding fee scale if that it's a need. My hope is therapy will help you come to terms with the past, understand and address the needs of the present, and shape a healthier and happier future. Here’s a little more about me. I’ve been married 25 years and have two adult children. I served previously in ordained ministry for more than 20 years, including 12 years on college campuses. Before going into private practice full-time, I worked at a medical rehabilitation clinic for people who had experienced traumatic brain injury. I also have experience working in an addiction recovery center. I am a big sports fan, love to travel, and am a lifelong learner. If you give counseling a try with me, and you decide it’s not a good fit, then no worries and no hurt feelings. I’m happy to help you connect with someone else to get the assistance you are seeking. That is most important!
